Job Description:
The Localization and Sensing research group develops technologies to enable smart building, robotics services for both residential and enterprise grade solutions. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team demonstrating the experience and applying machine learning techniques to build advanced multimodal sensing and localization systems and wireless services.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
As a trainee, you will be working on multiple exciting forward-looking research projects that would be integrated with Nokia's future products.
The role's responsibility would include a broad range of aspects from concept creation to development and testing of the proof of concept demonstrations on the next generation hardware or compatible simulators.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- Strong grasp of signal processing, statistical theory fundamentals.
- Ability to process raw sensor data - video/radar/audio/inertial sensor data.
- Familiarity with techniques for nonlinear optimization.
- Strongly prefer applied machine learning skills to solve real-world problems.
- Strong background in radio propagation and communication theory is a huge plus
- Ability to write high-quality code and produce demonstrable results in the real-world application.
- Skills - Python preferred, C/C++, Linux, Matlab, git
- Ability to work in a face-paced environment, and highly capable of juggling multiple projects all under tight deadlines.
- Should be a self-starter and think outside the box.
- Excellent analytic skills, organizational skills with attention to detail preferred.
- Experience in version controlled SW and excellent coding skills would be a huge plus.
Student Criteria:
Overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student.
Education Requested: Must be pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Business Modeling, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology, Nanotechnology, Operations Research, Physics, Statistics, Systems Engineering and Telecommunications from an accredited college/university.
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science or any similar field is mandatory
